Barnstable Early Education

Congratulations to Christine Serani and Anne Kullas, our two co-lead teachers at our West Barnstable Pre-School. Christine is starting her sixth year with us and is joined by second-year veteran Anne Kullas.
Anne holds a dual major in elementary education and psychology from Bridgewater State where she graduated cum laude. Anne was selected from a slate of candidates by a committee of Conservatory Pre-School parents (thank you, parents!).
The Conservatory’s Pre-School program is benefitting from a major face lift. While remaining true to its traditional roots, the program includes a significant increase of Arts enrichment. Students will work with Ms. Nancy Pettibone, one of the Cape’s most popular children’s art teachers. They will also receive music instruction from the Conservatory’s music faculty including, for the older students, their first experiences in the Conservatory’s remarkable Digital Music Lab. The Conservatory’s West Barnstable dance instructor will introduce students to the fundamentals of movement. In addition, the school’s academics are being further strengthened to exceed the new Kindergarten entrance standards.

"My daughter loved the pre-school at the Cape Cod Conservatory. It is the perfect balance of academics with art and music. Her teachers are very kind and nurturing with wonderful teaching skills. Not only did she have a great time, she was well prepared for Kindergarten." -K.M., W. Barnstable

Yoga Kids
With Cynthia Starosta
YogaKids is an innovative program that combines and teaches traditional yoga with new theories of multiple learning styles in a playful, engaging, and creative approach to children and their education. YogaKids uses elements - such as anatomy, reading books, math, music, visual art, ecology, language, and relaxation - with poses to encourage learning and exercise as a springboard to a healthy mind, body, and spirit. The poses will give children an avenue to practice strength, balance, flexibility, concentration, self awareness, compassion and much more. Ages 3 - 6.
