About Summer Sounds
| Grades 6-12
The Conservatory's Summer Sounds music program provides young people the opportunity to express, explore, create and enjoy music and voice in a relaxing and fun-filled environment. Our outstanding faculty of professional musicians, experienced music educators and counselors creates a stimulating, nurturing experience for aspiring musicians to share the joy of making music and new friends.

Designed for students entering grades 6 -12 with at least two years instrument or voice experience, this two-week program expands students’ appreciation for and knowledge of a wide range of musical genres, including jazz, rock, classical, Broadway, vocal and string ensembles. Young musicians learn more about their instruments, fine tune their music reading skills and increase their technical abilities. On the last day of the program, students celebrate with a pizza party and conclude the day with a grand finale – the Summer Sounds Concert – an invaluable opportunity for them to gain performance experience in front of an audience of family and friends.

Summer Sounds Music Program is directed by George J. Scharr, Director of the Conservatory’s Falmouth Campus and Director of Community Education for the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra. The faculty includes talented members of the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra, professional musicians, experienced educators and counselors who foster a supportive and rewarding environment.

About Summer Sounds Junior | Grades 4-6
At last, younger students have an opportunity to share the joy of making music and new friends! In this Junior version of Summer Sounds, we’ve created a program specially designed to accommodate younger musicians and keep them excited and motivated by playing in a group setting. Students will spend two hours a day singing and playing their instruments while learning music, basic theory and ear training in chorus and then transferring those skills to the instrumental segment. This two-week program creates a stimulating, nurturing experience for aspiring musicians.
