Sally Egan and Friend

Falmouth Early Education

Nursery-Kindergarten

At the Conservatory we believe childhood is a journey, not a race. And it should be a journey surrounded by music, art, dance and nature.

We start our day with free play. Handcrafted dolls, carved wood figures, stumps, unspun wool, and lengths of silk are just some of the ways that will spark your child’s imagination. Providing infinite possibilities, these materials allow children to transform them over and over again in play. The skills gained from this sort of play build active imaginations, nimble minds, and confident free thinkers.

At circle time, we draw inspiration from the world around us. Using the seasons our curriculum heightens children’s innate curiosity about nature and sharpens their power of observation. Through singing, games, and creative movement we promote a social-emotional curriculum and an appreciation of our environment.

After snack and outdoor play we finish the day with our story circle. Stories are a communal affair. As children learn to retell stories that they have heard, they gain skill in sequencing and predicting outcomes while building vocabulary and gaining confidence of expression among peers.

Hours & Enrollment

The Conservatory Nursery-Kindergarten operates Monday through Friday, 9:15 to 12:30. We follow the Falmouth Public School system for holidays, vacations and weather closings.

This class offers endless benefits and skills, not limited to but including socialization, vocalization, coordination, memorization, and listening along with music appreciation and tonal patterns.  If you love watching how “they get into the music” then this is the way and the place to encourage and enhance what comes naturally.  We will alternate music styles and/or themes for variety but continue to have a familiar format that children will recognize and look forward to each week.  When given a way to express themselves at an early age, children become comfortable and confident.  Do something fun, with and for your little ones and at the same time open the door to a whole new world of musical expression!
