for YOUTH

Japanese Dolls

With Sally Egan, B.A., M. Ed.

Taken from the pages of Rumer Godden's treasured Miss Happiness and Miss Flower, students will spend the week creating adventures for two amazing talking dolls! Students will craft their own doll-house-size doll in kimono.  Highlights of the week will include a Japanese Tea ceremony for the children and their new dolls. Ages 5 - 7.

Fairy Houses

With Sally Egan, B.A., M. Ed.

Create beautiful fairy homes complete with hand-fashioned bark furniture.

Take a trip to the fairy realm and discover enchanting natural materials to be used in making your fairy home. At the end of the week we'll host a fairy tea party for family and friends. Ages 5 - 7.

Paper Capers

From origami to paper mache, paper construction to paper making, children will discover the versatility of paper in artistic creations. 2D and 3D treasures will be made.  Ages 5 - 7.

The Art of Book Illustration

With Sally Egan, B.A., M. Ed.

Taking favorite picture books as a starting point, children will explore the art of book illustration. Collage, water color and acrylic paint techniques will be explored. By the end of the week students will have bound a written and illustrated book they create.  Ages 5 - 7.

Little Worlds

With Sally Egan, B.A., M. Ed.

Children will make miniature dolls, dollhouses and habitats for them.

Imaginations soar and the themes can be pirates on a treasure island, forest people in tree houses, fishing people in a hut on the river or how about frontier people in log cabins on the prairie? We'll learn about different dwellings and have lots of fun constructing small dolls in little worlds. Ages 5 - 7.
